Our Mission

LifeLine Music Coalition, Inc. (LMC) is a 501 C(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the power and influence of jazz and the arts in Philadelphia.

Since 2003, LMC has presented 21 jazz festivals and hundreds of concerts and workshops throughout the Delaware Valley and the world.

History

For 8 years, LMC was the music producer for the West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival, which took place in the neighborhood of West Oak Lane Philadelphia on the Ogontz Avenue corridor. The 3-day festival consisted of non-stop music on four outdoor stages which ran simultaneously.

In keeping with LMC's mission to promote Philadelphia's homegrown talent, 80% of the artists hired for the festival were from the Philly area. LMC also included The O’Jays, Teena Marie, Chaka Khan, Ashford and Simpson, Parliament Funkadelic, Benny Golson, Esperanza Spalding, Sun Ra Arkestra, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dave Sanborne, George Duke, Kevin Eubanks, and many others.  Everyone was a headliner!

“ON TIME…

ON STAGE…

ON BUDGET!”

Philadelphia Undefeated Jazz Festival

Following the West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival, LMC produced the Philadelphia Undefeated Jazz Festival (currently in its tenth year) outdoors on South Street in Philadelphia and when necessary indoors at the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz Performing Arts, SOUTH Jazz Club and also at Southside Events.

Jazz Up, Down and Around

For the past ten years, with the support of the William King Foundation, LMC has produced its signature series Jazz Up, Down, and Around, which showcases the many directions jazz can take.

For the past eleven years, LMC has produced “Friday Night Jazz” and “Summertime Saturday Jazz on the Lawn” at the Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill.

Special Music Programs

LMC is often called to produce special music programs which range from a Chinese New Year's celebration to pop-up jazz concerts in the park.
